Just how important are prereqs for transfer students?

And with that said, do I have a chance? I finally got the opportunity to visit UCLA today and have decided that I absolutely want to go there.

Stats!
Current school: UC Riverside (I saw that they accepted 23% of UCR applicants last year)
GPA: 3.94
Major: Computer Science (11% acceptance rate last year with an average GPA of 3.79, but no info about prereqs)
Extra-curriculars: Leader of a fairly-well known band (the tasks involve composing music, producing music, performing music, and booking gigs/promotion) and calculus tutoring (for pay)
Pre-reqs: Here's the problem, I know that prereqs are essential for UCLA's engineering school, and I don't know if my classes at UCR are going to transfer cleanly. If all goes well next year, I'll still be missing one or two prereqs (out of 11). This is because I didn't start college knowing my major, and have just decided on it now. Does this absolutely kill my chances?

Thanks for the input guys. And please give it to me straight!

p.s- I want to go to UCLA no matter what, however, and if I'm not accepted into computer science I'm considering alternate (easier) majors to apply for. Can I even do that?
