<p>You won't be automatically admitted so in a sense you will be thrown in with all the other non-top 10%ers. But your ranking is basically tied with the highest rankings that can be seen for a non-top10% student so you will have an advantage when they do their formula thing to see if they should accept you or not; however it is no guaranteed admission (especially this year).</p>

funny thought ... UT is kind of the reason I was born, my parents met there.</p>

<p>I heard a few years ago that having siblings at UT did helped you but I haven't heard it lately and it's not on their list of things they take into account for in application process...</p>
<p>And I don't remember it being on the application either. If it really made a difference then it would have asked "Do you have any siblings at UT? Name: ... " So maybe things have gotten too competitive to take that into consideration.</p>

<p>You should find the last guy that dropped out and talk him into coming back to school... then you're made. Ha.</p>
<p>This kinda happened to me. During my junior year I was top ten and there were 800 or so people in my class. But when senior year rolled around, the class size dropped to 600, which dropped me out of the top ten. Kinda sucked.</p>
