Just out of curiousity: pre-filled applications

Hi guys!

I'm reminiscing senior year (I'm currently a student at NYU) and I remember getting an application from Hopkins that was partially already filled out. I didn't end up applying simply because at the time, my interests were undecided and I was already applying to a lot of schools. However, I'm beginning to regret my decision not to apply because I'm a pre-med student now and the resources that Hopkins offers are tremendous. My question for you is this: what significance did that pre-filled application have? Did most of you get it, or is it given to students who Hopkins thinks are the right "fit" for the school?

Thanks a bunch!

There is little significance to the pre-filled applications that were sent out last year. They were sent to students who had been in contact with us in some way (online, a campus visit, a postcard, etc.) and had yet to finish their application. It was our final way of suggesting to students to apply to Hopkins.

The only criteria used to send these pre-filled applications out were contact with Hopkins. We did not use any academic parameters in selecting which students received these apps.

Hope that explains it.

That certainly sheds some light. Oh well, back to square one. :)
