Just to make sure I have the transcript thing down...

From what I understand, I don't have to send in transcripts or my IGETC proof until after I've been accepted by the campus of my choice, right?

And what exactly is the process of getting my IGETC finalized? Do I just tell my school to send it when they send my transcript?

ur right!

i dont know what the process is tho

Dont quote me but from my understanding that the IGETC needs to by notarized by the school

You have to go talk to a counselor and he gives it an “Official Seal” of approval. It is really easy, just talk to the individual ASAP.

But when do I need to do this? After I hear back from the schools as to whether or not I’ve been accepted?

IGETC certification depends on your school. For mine, IGETC certification request and transcript request were two entirely different processes. The latter I had to do electronically and the former was a mail-in request. Check with your admissions and records office to learn how they go about this.

It is most likely different at other schools, but my IGETC processing time from request to received was about a week and a half. Transcripts took about that long as well. But I also was making my requests mid school year.

As for when:

So transcripts are not due until after one is accepted and there is still a decent amount of wiggle room in terms of time. Don’t sweat it so much, transcripts are the least of your worries right now :). Just concentrate on your classes this semester/quarter if you’re taking any.
