Just took the SAT Biology...come hither!

uhm where did you guys find the curve because in all of my books it says you can miss 2-3 and i dont see it on the college board website.

xo isn't fine... they said typical female karyotype...

Well, I'm not sure myself--I believe the curve was taken from the "REAL SAT II" book, or something of that nature.

Can Someone Answer My Question

oh well i asked my friend with the real sat2 book and they said it was the same as the kaplans book... which says you can only miss 2-3

Right, it's a disorder--and women can still be XO.

13.Which one of the following is the only known viable human monosomy? (p. 282)

A)XYY
B)XO
C)YO
D)XY
E)XXY

Correct Which one of the following is the only known viable human monosomy? (p. 282)
Your answer: XO

Correct. Turner's syndrome, or XO, is the only viable human monosomy.

I know it's a very fague question, but nonetheless...

how is it not? it says female..

is CB playing adjective game?

how can XO be a typical female? O_O

it is a female, but it just has a disorder. I grabbed that question I just posted off of the Campbells Biology book--seventh edition.

dude... it's like typical female and immediate use of energy...

damn... i guess i did worse than i thought.

I don't know, i spent like 5 minutes just thinking if XO was "typical" or not. They should have explained what they meant by typical, because XY is normal however, XO is possible (turners). WIth XO you get a female that has physical abnormalities and is sterile, is that typical???

Wait whats the question and whats the answer

i thought typical meant FEMALE... it walks talks and acts like one

grrrrrrr

Well eh? Then like, collegeboard is discriminating against the disabled--tsk tsk; they're not abiding by the Humans with dissabilities act. I thought the wording on both the history and the biology were poor.

I got that XO question from my campbells book at school, so i mean I don't know.

that's gay. the ACLU will be on their ass!

:p

CB SAT IIs have horrible wording. I love AP tests.

the questions was what would be a typical female and you could choose like 1, 2, or all three of the choices.
a. XY
b. XX
c XO
Something like that, i dont know which answer is correct, i chose "only XX)

are you sure it said "typical" ?

If its typical I put XX. If it was the disorder one I am pretty sure its XO since I remember XO as one of my answers for one of these questions

DUDE XO is not a typical female.
The question asks which of these is for a TYPICAL female.
Unless your saying having XO is typical for females
the answer is XX

that's ****ing stupid, seriously.
