Just took the SAT Biology...come hither!

wouldnt the concentration of glucose decrease cus water would diffuse into the membrane and make the solution dilute?

i didnt know what a colon was----i left it blank : (

Oh yeah! What was that. I guessed bc I narrowed it down to 2 choices... but it was really a random guess.

Which version did you guys take? E or M?

I really wanted to look over E. But I forgot and decided to check over my answers. And by the time I was done and realized I wanted to see what the ecology questions were... I had like 5 minutes left and didn't get through them. :(

No, the substance in the bag has a higher concentration then the water. So, water would rush into the bag, as the stuff in the bag diffused out. Water diffuses from hypotonic to hypertonic.

exactly...i knew ppl would be like...what the hell is a colon....thank god i knew it...but just in general...it was tougher than we expected....is that a concensus amongst us all?

but didnt it say that the starch couldnt pass through the membrane, so water would go in but starch wouldnt go out, and the concentration of starch would decrease

didn't they say the bag was not permeable to the starch?

So the graph went up like...and then stabilized...it was A right?

Like this:

______-------------

Yeah, I'm confident with US history--I think I can score really high, mainly because the curve's so generous (knocking on wood). Biology on the other hand, I came out of the test more apprehensive and paranoid: like, "Oh man, did I check this party--did I do this on that part!" Yeah, I really think they overdosed the genetic topic.

i thought it just went down

i think solution dilute cuz solute can't diffuse out (question said the solute can't go thourgh the bag)

is colon for reabsorb water?

Ea is for breaking bond, right??

Another thing- they didn't have one of those DNA-RNA questions like GCTAT! :(

The concentration of the starch stayed the same. The PERCENTAGE of starch in the bag would decrease, but the concentration couldn't change because starch wasn't able to diffuse out.

What was the colon answer? I'm so confused.

wait, what was the exact question....cus it appeared to me that water would diffuse in, lowering glucose concentration, but I put A because i think the question asked over time, wat would happen to the concentration of water in the bag? was it that? The other graphs didnt make sense...there was a constant, one increase slope, decrease slope, exponential i think...and then A which was an increase and then leveling....i forgot the question itself...

activation energy is for breaking bonds i think

who else took ecology??

the colon answer--reabsorption of water.

Wait? So how dod the graph look like for the starch? Did it swoop down, or remain the same?

Ea for breaking bonds yes....Colon is the large intestine = water absorption

YAY ON COLON YAY!

The graph looked like this

:)

i put that it swooped down...but now im not so sure

i think i put A. the graph increased a little then constant.

there's a question choice like
A. cell is under cell division
B. cell is enlarging
c. cell differeniation

what's the answer?? (can't remember exactly the question anymore)
