Just wanted to say thank you

Almost two years ago I posted a thread on this board seeking ideas and guidance about schools which would be of interest to my daughter. In the second post on that thread, @mathmom said “She sounds like Vassar to me.” And had we taken that advice at that point we could have saved a whole lot of time and effort. It turns out that after several other threads, a whole lot of research here and elsewhere and a number of school visits, my daughter agreed that Vassar was the right place. She found out last night that Vassar’s admission department agrees as well, and barring some huge snafu with financial aid, she will attend in the fall.

While it would be wrong to say that my daughter would not have achieved this result without the resources available here, as a parent I can state that it would have been far, far more difficult without the assistance of so many knowledgeable posters here. So thank you all.

What a great post - congratulations to your daughter and family!

Time spent investigating other options was not wasted. She can now attend Vassar knowing it is a better fit than other options. No school is perfect. Once she is in college there will be no second guessing or wishing she had done more research before making her choice. Congrats to your D for getting her choice and kudos to those who helped.

Congratulations to her daughter!

Congrats to you and your family!

I love this post and I’m so happy for you and your daughter. Congratulations!

What a lovely post. Congrats to you and your D.

Congrats on your D’s admission offer to Vassar. Best wishes to her enjoying her time.

Hurrah! Brava to your daughter.

Nice result @ohiodad51! Congratulations to your daughter.

Thanks again for the well wishes. Financial aid came today and I am happy-ish.

@wis75, yeah very true. I just wanted to give props to @mathmom for nailing it.

That’s fantastic - so happy for you and your daughter and I agree that the folks on this forum are fantastic sources of information. I have pointed so many of my friends to this forum yet some of them don’t seem to use it. Oh well . . . you can lead a horse to water.

Congrats! Vassar’s a great school, and the kids I’ve known who have gone there have invariably loved it. Woohoo!

What a nice story! Let me know if you need any “Pok” (Poughkeepsie) hints. I used to live nearby and actually had my hs graduation at the Vassar chapel… very beautiful campus.

My Poughkeepsie tip - the sandwiches (especially the “Import Mix”) and other assorted italian delights at this place: http://www.rossideli.com

I think this is the highest and best use of College Confidential :).
