Many Thanks

It has been a while since I last visited CC, and I am back to thank all the parents who responded to my posts, and gave excellent advice. My first post on CC was a rant against the GC, but we worked out our differences, and the GC's support was extraordinary. D applied to four schools: Harvard (SCEA), Princeton, Yale and Williams. She was accepted by all four with extremely generous financial aid, and although she has not seen any of the schools, she has decided on Harvard, a decision that she made with the advice of many, including CC parents.

Special thanks to marite, twinmom, northstarmom and ohiomom.

What? No safety? (I assume the EA was your safety...) Wow!

Yes, indeed, wow! Thanks for letting us know.

Advice to future applicants: don't try this at home!!!

But congrats nomadmom!

Actually, if one gets into a school SCEA (which is non-binding), they can pass on their safeties in the RD phase, which is what dmd was referring to. One of the great assets of EA/ED is that it can save time and money on later applications. Congratulations nomadmom! Four for four at those schools in this year is quite an accomplishment!

nomadmom--congrats on such great results for your D--long may she thrive at Harvard!

I hope you will stick around to advise others and pay forward your good fortune.

Thanks for letting us know the good news, nomadmom - and even better since the finaid makes it possible. Best wishes for a wonder educational experience for your wonderful D!
