You know the bluebook practice tests? How similar are they to the real thing? I know they're made by the 'testmakers themselves' but are they the exact difficulty level of the real SAT? What do you think a score of, say, 2290 on the 7th practice test give you?

bump......

I'd say... hmmm... lemme think... 7th practice test... 2290... how much would it be on the real thing... hmm...

I'd say it'd be about 2290 on the real thing!

Lol, I'm just messing. But it would seriously be about 2290. Do remember that the BB gives score ranges, so in the real thing it could range anything from the lower bound to the upper bound depending on people's performance. So don't take the upper bound for each section and add those up because you might get a bit of a shocker when you get the results for the real thing...

Blue Book tests are most like the real tests. They're made up of actual previous SAT questions. Definitely do them.

@CDN_dancer- Thx for the link!

@Sci-Fry & mutha5050- Lol yea I guess. When I grade my SAT I take a little bit lower than the middle range, like if the range is 700-800 I'd take around 740.

My only worry is that I seem to be averaging around 2280-2290 in all the tests except the last one. I got 2210 in test 8 for some crazy reason. In Kaplan, my scores are significantly lower, like 2190-2210, and my TPR scores are aroud 2250. Do other prep books intentionally make the test harder? Because I've always found the BB to be much easier than the others. I wonder what the reason for the wide range of scores is...

^ I've heard that Barrons is generally a lot harder, but I'm not sure about the others. The Blue Book is known to be the most accurate, because as you said, those tests are made by the test makers themselves. I think it's fairly normal for your score to range a little bit from test to test, sometimes you might find some of the CR passages unusual, or it might just not be your day, or otherwise you were unlucky with the questions you got. Only getting a few questions wrong can make a large difference on your score, but don't worry about it too much. As long as you try your best on test day, hopefully all will go well ;)
