I was on the JV tennis team both freshman and sophomore year. Freshman year, I didn't do much. Sophomore year, I placed third at the end of the year league tournament, was co-captain, and also was MVP doubles. Do colleges care at all about your accomplishments on JV tennis. I go to a pretty competitive school when it comes to sports, and tennis was one of them.

It should because all schools are so different. Many varsity players at some smaller high schools wouldn’t even make JV if they attended a larger school.

It’s certainly worth a mention on the resume, especially because you were co-captain.

Alright, hopefully I’ll be in varsity next year and senior year. Yeah, I know many people on varsity teams in other schools that probably would not have started on a JV team.

Anyone else have any opinions?

yeah the JV team isn’t worth mentioning unless you were nationally ranked or in your state etc. co-captain of a JV team isn’t very impressive, and if you mention that too much it’ll seem like you’re really not capable of making a higher team, and that you’re milking a small accomplishment into something that’s really not great.
