They all said the same thing. I could go log on and check my application status. Please I have a question.

It says I never turned in my common app. supp. or my "why swarthmore essay" or counselor report. By each of them it says outstanding. What does this mean...? does this mean they are missing or not..

"Outstanding" would mean that they are missing. But, since it is "filing" season, it may just mean that they need a little more time to get everything into each applicant's file. They had a record number of applicants this year, so there is a lot of paperwork to be filed. To put yourself at ease, why don't you give them a quick call and just tell them when you submitted the documents, that your status page still says that they have not been received and ask when they expect to have everything filed. If they tell you that everything has already been put into the prospective student folders, only then will it mean that perhaps there is a problem.

The notes specifically said Do Not Call. They had "Outstanding" for my daughter's application fee for almost two months after I had paid my credit card bill! They just must be overwhelmed. My daughter did send them an email saying that she had paid and we could send confirmation again if they could not find it. Eventually it was posted. They will let you know. My daughter decided after doing most of the application for Cornell to not apply there after all. They sent her a letter yesterday saying she needed to send them her essay to complete the file. Patience. It will be fine.

phew...glad they have everything from me. They emailed my counselor about the midyear report and everything before I even had the chance to ask...so they seem to be on top of things...or at least the person handling my application is

It wouldn't be the password I'd be worried about, it's the username...the password's not computer-generated, it's a piece of personal information.

If it makes anyone feel better, one of my teacher recs was sent in a little late, and they never changed its status on the website from "outstanding" to "received" (or whatever it says once they get it),

But they still let me in ED.

So if you know the stuff got sent in, they probably just haven't gotten around to updating your stuff. But of course it's good to check.

In a similar vein, on the Common App Checklist Page, Swarthmore is the only school that shows up as not having been "downloaded," (transfer application submitted 5 days ago).

Update to my prior post. Common App Checklist now reports that Swat downloaded the app 8 days after it was submitted, but that Swat has still not downloaded the supplement (11 days after it was submitted).

I doubt that the Swat admissions office is in any hurry to download transfer apps until the regular decision letters are mailed. This is the busiest week of the year in the admissions office, mailing 4000+ letters.

I'd imagine it's closer to 5000+ letters, since we broke the applicant record for previous years, haha. :] EDs haven't gotten anything yet, but there are only 150 or so of us, and only some early writes, so it'd still be really high. :D

I finally log in the check website at last (it seemed they gave me a useless id number) but.............
Common App Supp Missing
Essay: Why Swarthmore? Missing
Teacher Recommendation 2 Missing
What is going on?! Are they supposed to tell me if something is missing in my file? Or can i just supposed that my file is completed they simply forgot to update the data?
Oh please, I am almost desperate!

Chenkendra, my son has some "missing" items, too, but since every other school he applied to has gotten everything, we're trying not to worry, especially since the email from Swarthmore said something like: "Do not call the Admissions Office. We will notify you if we need something from you." I've been tempted to call anyway, but so far have not. You certainly could call if it's going to keep you awake nights. If you do, let us know what they say!

That happened to me in early march and i got really worried so i e-mailed the Admissions Office and they said if it says Missing, they don't have it. So they asked me to fax them copies of my Swat commonapp supplement, and my Why Swarthmore essay. I e-mailed it and faxed it to them and they immediately changed my status to Received.
