Does anyone have Kaiser Health Insurance? Did you or your child elect to pay for Princeton's health coverage....since there are no Kaiser facilities near Princeton?

Maybe it's time to switch to BC/BS. We've been debating this for a couple of years since our older son goes to Cal Poly SLO, where there are also no Kaiser facilities.

Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated!

I have Kaiser (northern CA). Also, my child is at Columbia, but there's no Kaiser there either. There was an emergency visit last year requiring stitches. The hospital (it borders the campus) preferred her Kaiser number over the Columbia provided health plan number and they billed Kaiser. I was notified by Kaiser they paid the claim. I thought of dropping it this year and was told by another NoCAL parent that it was difficult getting Columbia to accept Kaiser because Kaiser wouldn't guarantee certain things and as time ran short last year, he paid for the school insurance but was going to get an earlier start this year in obtaining necessary Kaiser assurances for Columbia. I apologize this doesn't relate to Princeton, but thought I would share our experiences with an east coast school. I will watching to see if you get any good information on this thread, because I am very interested also, especially as costs escalate and every little bit of relief would help. I have kept her double covered, without any regret, because of the piece of mind factor. I have had Kaiser for over 30 years (since I was my kid's age ;) ) and am not as willing to switch over to BS/BC. Good Luck :)
