hi, i am taking the SAT II bio in december. I gave up using the barron's-too long and boring. i was wondering if any of you did well on the test using Kapaln or PR. Which is better (or is there a better review book)...? Would studying from any of these two books give me all the material I need to know for the test?

use kaplan. i read through the pr one in like a day - it's so short! but i think it was helpful and put things into better perspective.

i used kaplan the whole way through and got 760 :

I am taking Bio SAT II in May and I am using Kaplan as well as long with Cliffs AP Bio. Have you taken AP Bio or Honors Bio. I reccomend buying Cliffs in conjunction with Kaplan.

i am taking ap bio...but i won't learn enough by december to take the test using only what i learned in the class...

Kaplan left out important details. Barron's puts too many useless details.

I thought PR was pretty good--I didn't take AP, and my teacher didn't really cover a lot, but with only reading PR and taking the online SparkNotes Test I got a 750, not bad.

why don't you take the test after your AP?
barron's is really bad for bio imo.
i got 770 this oct using, well, my AP notes and CB and PR.

Sure did. Cost me four questions.

Not saying it is all bad though, it did help me out.

I was in the same situation when I took it. I used Kaplan and got an 800.

so i guess, overall, the details that Kaplan leaves out outweighs the extraneous details that Barron's adds?

having extra details is better than not having enough.

That is exactly what I think, stuck-on-1700. On both Biology tests, I did not do as well as I could have done (710 on Bio-M, 730 on Bio-E) because detailed questions evaded me, having used Kaplan and Princeton Review to prepare.

On the other hand, by using Barron's for Math 2, U.S. History, and Chemistry, I was able to get 800s on all three exams. I would recommend Barron's for all SAT 2 exams - knowing extra details have always given me a feeling of confidence when I take the exam, which I never had with Kaplan or Princeton Review. And when a couple of questions makes the difference between a 700 and an 800, or a 600 and a 700, a secure feeling about an exam is critical for test-taking ability.

Bottom line: All those extraneous details were well worth the extra reading, both for answering difficult questions and confidence on test day.

I have PR and Kaplan. Which has the more accurate tests? Which has the harder tests?

From my experience, Kaplan makes spelling mistakes and answer letter mistakes. I don't remember anything else.
