Kaplan US History tests good prep for the exam?

Can anyone tell me if the Kaplan book is good preparation for the SAT II test in US History? I just took two practice tests and the questions seem really picky to me, which would lead me to believe that the Kaplan tests are harder than the real thing. For example, they ask about specific people that I never even covered in my AP US History course (I used the American and its Peoples textbook).

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I used Kaplan for reviewing for SAT II USH…for some random reason, my mom bought that one. I think it was the first prep book she saw.

I used REA for APUSH and then Kaplans to review and I thought it did a pretty good job. Not as thorough as REA but I just needed a brief review and it was great. The practice tests…hmm. Well I only did one haha. But I thought it was fairly accurate. Might be a bit harder but pretty close.

I thought the SAT II USH exam was pickier than the AP exam. A lot more names/terms.

And even though I thought the AP exam MC questions were easier than the SAT II ones, I still did better on the SAT. I probably bombed the FR part of the AP exam though haha. And the curve on SAT II USH is pretty lenient.

Good luck!
