CB Blue Book seems a lot easier. What the dillio? Does Kaplan try to make their tests harder than the Collegeboard ones? How did people who used Kaplan do on the March and May SATs? How did people who used the Kaplan books (The Big Purple book and RYSEM) do on the March and May SATs?

don't know abt Kaplan, but the CB Blue Book is accurate. Most test prep companies make their books harder.

Barron's is definitely one of the hardest ones. I went through its Math IIC practice tests, thought I was going to get a 675.9, and ended up with an 800.

Umm. I took kaplain tests and was consistentley breaking 700s and then took the cb blue book and was doing 650s in each section. My may sat was around a 680 in each section. I would just do the cb book, they are the ones who actually make the teat

rhs60, thanks... while that probably doesnt help the topic creater, who asked about SAT prep, that's really encouraging to me, since I've been doing terribly on barron's (690s, when placed on the sparknotes scale).

decides he doesnt need anymore prep, forgets about math, and really does get a 690

CB Blue book...as other people have said....it's made by the creators, so the tests you take will be what is to be expected on the test. I know the reasoning in going for something more challenging, like Barrons, in which you score low, but on the real SAT get a higher score, but why not just take the CB and go from what you get from there, so you know a more accurate view.?
