I'm an incoming transfer and I just found out that I will be living in Keeton. I'm pretty relieved; I had heard that spots at West Campus were pretty limited this year.

But can anyone share their experiences with Keeton, specifically? I guess it was the 4th house built in the West Campus system, so I'm hoping that everything is nice.

it means “ugly”, so it’s designed specifically to meet the needs of ugly people. joking, it’s “(U)nder(G)raduate”. i was also asigned to William Keeton House, a suite. see you all there!

who’s that? I was assigned a double, within a suite. Does anyone have any experience this? I think 5 people living in the same suite is too much. How many bathrooms are there? Do we have a kitchen? Microwave? I’m thinking I might request a room change once I get there.

Good luck with that. All five of the West Campus Houses have suite-style living. If you want to change…you might end up living off of West Campus.

Also, there is a charge for successful room changes.

If you can get one There were some major housing issues this year…I don’t think too many of the students who got a single will be that quick to give it up.

If you don’t get a single for the fall, you might be able to get one for the spring after winter graduation.

@joetheplumber:
there’s one bathroom for the five ppl in the suite; there is no kitchen within the suite but there is one in each hallway (shared among multiple suites)

At least in Becker, there was a kitchen on every other floor. Keeton might be different, but there isn’t necessarily going to be a kitchen on every floor.

In my opinion, Keeton’s dining hall is the worst on west.

I understand you can’t just pick housing resurgam, but it is possible that, say for spring semester, the probability of switching to a single ON West will be a lot higher. And they have room change requests for a reason, otherwise they wouldn’t exist.

@tmk: 1 bathroom for 5 people? are you sure? that’s gonna be a pain in the ass.

lol I’m gonna stick with the room, but I guess it was the initial shock of knowing I’d be living with 5 complete strangers that kind of surprised me.

Does anyone know if they have floor plans for the different dorms?

^^ Exactly. Stop complaining. There are tons of students who would be ecstatic with a double in a suite in one of the nicest dorms on campus. It’s a lot better than what many others were assigned.

keeton house (and the new west houses) bathrooms are the best bathrooms of any dorm on campus

his and hers sinks with a wide mirror, bathroom locks in its own room (no flimsy stall), shower is big enough for several people (no sex shower plz)
