I was admitted to IUB last Saturday and being an international, still waiting for my admission package.... of course i was thinking that my direct admit decision about Kelley would follow that initial package..... but then i just got an email invitation to attend to Kelley Direct Admit Day event in the IUB campus.

I'm both excited and confused... is it safe to say that i have been admitted to Kelley before i even receive the decision letter? man, it may take a month to reach here..

i think its a reasonable concern. he doesn't want to show up to direct admit day and then have them tell him he wasn't admitted, especially traveling from outside the country.

that being said, i can't tell you for sure, but i would assume you were admitted. then again, im not even applying to colleges until next year, so what do i know?

I presume they send the letter to all internationals, so that if those accepted from Canada want to, they can attend. If you are from someplace like India, Europe, China, or South America, they obviously don't expect you to attend--nor should you. You'll get everything you need handled during orientation over the summer--or via long distance.

still no news from Kelley.... well, i will just wait for the regular mail... anyways, i won't be able to attend it although i really want to (of course, if i get direct admit) ..... staying in Jakarta...

You might consider calling Kelley to see if you have been directly admitted. Letters mailed internationally can take a while to arrive, especially in more remote locations like Indonesia.

i am in the same situation (except i'm not international). I received a letter/e-mail about direct admit day but no previous letter stating my acceptance. I thought it probably meant I got in, but I wasn't sure. I called and they gave my number to someone who has yet to call me back. If you got in though and received no letter i'm hoping it means I also got in.

The Kelley School of business offers certain scholarships (as do all the colleges at Indiana University). What you qualify to apply for depends upon your admission timeframe and status.

Here is the link that gives more info for Kelley:

Ah. I wasn't aware Kelley offered any scholarships besides Kelley Scholar program to direct-admits. When I was direct admitted, I only received the Selective Scholarship Application to apply for the Kelley Scholars program - but its a little to late for new direct-admits to be receiving that scholarship application.
