I’ve heard that double majoring in Finance & Accounting is easily/quite doable at Kelley but I’m a bit confused. I’ve been looking around and some threads had said that adding a finance major on top of an accounting major would only require a few more credit hours. I’ve been looking at the separate major requirements and, while it is doable to double major, it is not as easy as people say it is. By my calculations it would require F303, F305, A310, A324 and then 12 credit hours of finance electives. Am I miscalculating or missing something?
Nope, you don’t require all those classes because there are a lot of permitted substitutions. For example, accounting majors are required to take A311 and A312, which substitute for A310 AND one finance elective, plus A-325 substitutes for A324. So, you would only need F303, F305, and then 9 credit hours of finance elective. This is fairly simple to do.
@KelleySA Thank you.
Also, the accounting major (maybe all majors in Kelley, not sure) requires 3 classes from a different major to get an accounting degree only. If you use those 3 classes on Finance classes, it’s only 2 or 3 more classes for a double major
