Kelley Double Major

Hi all

Would anyone be able to tell me, perhaps from experience, how attainable a double major in Finance and Economic Consulting would be at Kelley?

In general, double majoring within Kelley is very doable. For every major, a requirement to graduate is to take 3 classes from a different major, so that gives you a great start. I am a freshman considering Finance and Accounting, and my advisor told me it would take 6 more credits to add a Finance major to accounting. I’m not sure about those 2 together specifically, but chances are it would be doable. You might not end up sticking with those exact 2 anyway

Great, thanks a lot!

Consulting major has the requirement of 21 credits. Only one possible overlap with Finance (G345). If you are good enough to get into the workshop, you need to take three more courses.

Therefore, you do need to plan very carefully. Kelley added five required courses such as T175, T275, T375, D270, D271 in the last two years. All these should be electives. If you are interested in a minor outside Kelley, rush a fraternity, and take a few extra interesting courses inside or outside of Kelley, you are out of luck unless you bring in 20 credit hours or more to IUB. You should take some summer courses and get the credits for W131, M118, M119, E201, etc. I believe that the consulting workshop students have higher average GPA than the IBW members. So, keep your grades up.
