Son was accepted to both with nice merit scholarships. He would like to study finance which is a top program at both. University of Miami is the higher rated national university and harder to get into. Direct admission to Kelley at the University of Indiana is the better overall business school. He is also accepted to the Hutton Honor's program at Indiana with additional scholarship money but not to the honor's program at Miami. Is this decision personal preference or is there an advantage of one school over the other?

Kelley is much better for business.

Indiana is much better; better ranked business school, better ranked in finance.

Go with Indiana. With the scholarships, being admitted into the honors program, it's definitely the better package. Sure, you can't be Florida weather, but the career resources for Kelley's school of business are really pretty stellar.

Indiana by far. The Kelley School of Business is a top 10 undergrad business school in the country. Plus, Goldman Sachs, the best i-bank in the world, recruits there!

I think honors program at Indiana is better (I have been accepted to both).
ncody0220. Indiana is 11th in US news best undergraduate B-school ranking and 10th in business weeks ranking. But in the same rankings Georgetown is on 25th and 13th places respectively. Do you think Indiana is better than Georgetown? I think we must not judge by the rankings.

No. In business, the strength of a program isn't necessarily in rankings, but in my opinion it is in the strength of the career office and placement. And therefore for placement:
Miami<Kelley<<<<<Georgetown
