Hi, I am a Kelley Direct Admit and I am having trouble choosing where to live. I like the opportunities that KLLC offers but I am not a partier/huge extrovert so I’m not sure if the “wild” Northwest neighborhoods are for me- I’ve heard some freaky stories from people who are at IU.
Personality wise I feel Central is a better fit for me, and I want to be surrounded with more than just business majors. But like I said, I feel like I’ll miss out on things if I’m not in the KLLC.
Which should I choose?
If you don’t want to be surrounded by just business majors, you should probably go with central. The main draw to the KLLC is the people. It tends to be easier to make friends with people who automatically share a common interest, or at least that’s the idea. I think the people in the KLLC are a big plus, but you won’t be missing much other than the people if you don’t live in the KLLC.
I know plenty of people who were not big partiers in the KLLC, and it was fine for them. If you don’t want to party, nobody is going to force you, and the RAs do a pretty good job of controlling noise at night. I personally would choose the KLLC if I was an incoming freshman again, but you’ll be fine in central if that’s what you want.
