Kelly ( IU) versus Lehigh

My daughter was admitted to both and is struggling to figure out which school to go to. Kelly is ranked better as a business school but Lehigh is an overall better school then IU. thoughts/views?

If your daughter is confident she will study business, then I believe the quality of the business program should weigh much more heavily than the quality of the university as a whole. Companies recognize the quality of students Kelley produces and come here to recruit without worrying about the quality of the university as a whole.

Both business schools are good choices. IU is much larger than Lehigh, and I know that in itself has helped some make a a decision. Sorority recruitment is MUCH more competitive at IU if that is something that your daughter might pursue. Also have her review each business school’s website and have her look at required courses, opportunities, clubs, etc to see what interests her. My daughter really likes the fashion industry and found that they have an area in Kelley that does fashion forecasting…you aren’t going to find that everywhere and that really peaked her personal interest. Rankings aside, where did your daughter feel more comfortable? My daughter chose IU because she likes a large campus / big ten spirit (sees lots of opportunities with the size) but has friends that are overwhelmed by that and would prefer a smaller campus. Lehigh is much smaller - but I think that its a good good size ( not too small). I know kids that have been happy with each school and have done well. Placement at each school is pretty good. Good luck!

Thanks for the information. She is planning on studying accounting/finance… She is indifferent about the sorority life. I want to make sure she gets the best business school education and opportunities for internships and jobs. I think she would be comfortable at either

If you take money out of the equation, it really should be about where SHE wants to go. Has she visited both?
