Kent School, NMH, Williston Northampton'

Hi!
I’m a 10th grader who is repeating sophomore year if I go to boarding school. I got into the 3 schools I applied to: NMH, Williston, and Kent. I would describe myself as pretty smart, not very athletic, and slightly alternative. I was just wondering if there are any current students/parents that could answer my questions about the schools?

NMH: What are the kids like? Do you think people are “weird”, or really different there? Are the classes extremely difficult? Do you feel a lot of pressure? How often do you leave the campus?

Williston: Do you find the classes difficult? Would I feel left out not being super sporty? Is it easy to make friends? How often do you leave campus?

Kent: Are people ‘too’ preppy at the school? Would someone who is interested in yoga have as good a time as someone who loves field hockey? Is the school really formal, like do you ever feel uncomfortable?

All of you reading, thanks! And do you like your school? Any advice helps, feel free to PM me!

I have a son at Kent. Kent offers yoga as an intramural sport. It is a preppy place but first appearances may make it seem more so than reality owing to the formal academic dress code. I don’t know anyone who thinks twice about it. You’ll find a full spectrum of students there in terms of academics, athletics and personality. At roughly 550 predominantly boarding students it is larger than Williston and smaller than NMH. The campus is beautiful and it is hard to beat the proximity to the town. It’s hard to go wrong with any of these schools.
