Alright guys, emails go out today. Good luck to all of you, I am 99% sure I am getting rejected but who knows. I hope you all end up getting in!
I think the decisions will be posted by 6. On Twitter, Kenyon said that they posted ED I then.
I feel like I probably will end up getting deferred. Good luck to all of you guys as well.
WELL THEY JUST PROLONGED MY STRESS
They are late putting out the results…
That email gave me a heart attack. I wonder if this means decisions will be scattered or announced all at once within 48 hours?
My daughter applied to Kenyon ED 2, I think. Will she find out today as well?
Today they come out!
Anyone else ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED? Aside from that I truly wish everyone luck!
@nelson31 It prolonged my stress just way too much.
I agree! At first I thought I was over the anxiety and then at 3:00pm today it came back rushing in. I hope they don’t push them back out again, I just might lose all hope then.
I got rejected, no big deal. I was anticipating it. Good luck to everyone else
I was deferred but was expecting complete rejection so tht ok!
Sorry to hear that. I ended up getting deferred. Kinda already knew that was going to happen. Now I have to wait although way until April…
What does a deferred letter say?
February 3, 2016
Dear ************
After careful review of your early decision application for admission to Kenyon College, the Admissions Committee has decided to defer final action on your application until the spring. Please understand that this present action is not a denial of your application. It is a deferral of the final decision until we have more information about you and the entire applicant group. You are free to file other college applications as you are no longer bound by Kenyon’s Early Decision regulations.
Because we limit the number of students admitted under Early Decision, admission is very competitive. The committee recommended deferring final action on your application to allow us to review your application again in the broader context of the full applicant pool. Please keep us informed of any new coursework, grades, or activities which will help us more fully understand your academic commitment, motivation, and preparation. And if you haven’t yet had an interview, you may want to consider scheduling one. Simply go to kenyon.edu/visit. On-campus interviews must be completed by February 20.
Your entire application file will be read afresh by the committee in March, and you will receive our final decision by April 1. Our present action will not bias our consideration of your application in the spring.
I know this deferral must come as a disappointment, since by applying for Early Decision, you are indicating Kenyon is your top choice. I am sorry that we could not yet reach a decision. Should you have any questions about our decision or our policies, please do not hesitate to write or call me.
Sincerely,
Diane C. Anci
Vice President for Enrollment Management
Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid
P.S. If you are applying for financial aid, please be sure to file all forms by the February 15 deadline. See kenyon.edu/finaid for more details.
Ah, yeah I got rejected haha.
I will try to be a transfer after freshman year, but goodluck to everyone else.
Rejected too but hey it’s all good guys! Wish you the best in whichever college you go to also good luck to reilyann hopefully that deferral turns into an accordion in April!!!
Deferred …what happened to us? Is there anyone gets accepted?
Hi I’ve been watching you guy’s thread as I awaited my decision. I got in Ed ii and thought I’d share my opinion on why I got in. I was very worried about my decision as I felt that I was under-qualified compared to a lot of you guys on this thread. I think the biggest contributing factor to my acceptance was that I went to Kenyon Young Writers and had a great interview with my regional admissions rep. I also come from an underrepresented region of the country so I think that might have worked in my favor. Best of luck to everyone in the rest of their college decisions
writewritewrite, Congratulations on your acceptance! Would you mind sharing your stats for your ACT/SAT and GPA?
