Is anyone applying early decision 2?
here…
here… never more scared for a letter
Finally submitted my Common App today.
I wish the posted that stats for Kenyon ED II separately and the average gap/act acceptance.
I agree… first week of February will be the most nerve wracking
Let’s all pray to our respective gods and admissions counselors to accept us. ed usually accepts a high percentage so itslike a 50% chance plus a 15% chance in rd which moves us to 65% chance of being admitted.
these are rough statistics assuming we are in range.
Best Luck to everyone, and may the admissions office bless us all with a nice big envelope saying we were accepted
Hi,
I’m new to CC, and am applying to Kenyon ED II. Would anyone wanna post their stats to compare?
Also did anyone else get rejected ED I from a different school (like I did)? Just wondering about why students choose ED II otherwise.
Chance me?
GPA: 3.65
Class rank: 123/745.
SAT: 2020… CR 680, M 680, W 660.
Common App essay and interview were both strong.
Taken 4 AP classes, and several honors.
Included a visual arts portfolio in my application.
I am the only student applying from my school.
I have been a member of the Art Institute at my HS for four years. Will graduate with arts degree.
EC:
Precollege at School of the Visual Arts (SVA).
Volunteer with Junior Achievement. (taught an elementary school class entrepreneurial skills).
Feminist Club Member.
Member of the National Art Honor Society. (arts related community service).
Euro Challenge member. (researched EU’s economic stance, created solutions).
In class run by Dedalus Foundation at the Met. (collaborative art history research).
Babysitter (will have $3000 in own college savings, which i reported to the school).
Tutor.
Science Research.
Income: A bit under $60,000. No property ownership, all savings are tied up in my/my sisters college funds. It worries me that this is why I may have been rejected from Oberlin. Schools sometimes promise to meet all demonstrated financial need, so income can be a deciding factor between two candidates).
@bklyn1998 you and I have similar stats. your gpa is a touch higher and your sat is higher. I think you may get in, but it will be on the edge…though your sat is way a good amount better and may offset your mid range status. I know I wouldn’t have a shot if I didn’t have 4 big hooks including a sport.
Decisions will be made by february 2nd… who is nervous. We have less than 17 days before we find out.
Does anyone know if we find out at the same time or if we are are told as it happens?
For the CSS/Financial Aid Profile do you guys know if you submitted it by the 15th but on the Kenyon College portal it says received by the 18th it is ok or considered late?
@ReilyAnn You should be fine, the counselors and financial aid office have to manually update the system. My portal said I had it missing for 5 days after I got an email confirmation of it being received.
Just out of curiosity, how did you guys demonstrate interest in Kenyon?
Toured, interviewed, contacted a department head, who put me through to a current student.
Overnight visit after a plane and a bus ride alone, interview and had an athletic coach set up everything for me. Emailed admissions counselor regularly and had some phone calls.
I wasn’t able vist the campus but, I had an alum interview and attend a regional event.
Do you know what time the decisions come out at on the Kenyon admission portal?
