Hey there! Has anyone received an invitation to the on-campus scholarship competition? According to Kenyon's website, the letters should have been sent out this week. Also, did anyone attend the competition last year? If so, I would love to hear about your stats/experience! Thanks!

Letters have been sent out already.

Letters only? Do you know if email/phone notifications have been sent as well?

Called admissions today. Letters only. Scholarship weekend starts this Friday, so the notifications went out a few weeks ago.

That’s weird. I called as well and they said the letters were sent out last week and could still be in the mail. I know on the website it mentions notifications taking place during the first week of February, so that seems a bit strange. Any thoughts?

You might want to call admissions. They confirmed D did not get a letter/invite.

S3 is going this weekend. He received an email invite. Anyone know how many scholarships are awarded?

I do not. What were your son’s stats, if you don’t mind my asking?

2300 sat and 4.0 uw gpa. Not sure what else that look at. They did say they had more than 6500 applicants and 30 were choses as finalists. The email came on Jan 30th. We didn’t even know about the scholarship so it was a huge surprise. Also, what a drastic increase in the number of applicants. Do you think that is solely to do with dropping the supplemental essay? Their website says 4056 applicants last year.

I think the supplement had a quite a bit to do with it. Also John Green has become incredibly popular and is a Kenyon alum.

Also, no application fee. More applicants but lower yield I would imagine.
