Kerry or Bush

At the same time, the economy wasn't nearly as bad as it is today. Also, although putting it right up to $10/hr would probably hurt some, if it was done over a few years, it probably wouldn't harm anything. It's what we should have been doing all along, but the damn republican powers that be have been blocking these minimum wage movements for years. Corporations like to be able to keep their workforce as cheap as possible, it's where they make their money. Plus, if the poor were making more money, the economy would be in great shape as the people who will spend the money you give them are the poor. They can't save up money like the rich can, they need FOOD. If the economy is up, small businesses benefit and whatever loss they would have encountered from the added expense will be outwieghed by the fact that there is more money being instilled into the economy. It'd be better for all of us in the long run. Plus, $10/hr is low. The average family of four needs at least $13/hr to survive on the absolute bare minimum.

Yea, I'm for Bush. It's tough though living in Jersey where everyone hates him :(

The poor wouldn't be getting any money because they wouldn't have any jobs. You're going to tell me that McDonald's would love to have the minimum wage at $10 an hour? I doubt half of their workforce gets paid that much. That would put a huge dent in their profits. Most businesses cannot afford $10 an hour, it's that simple.
