Keyless entry

I heard that some dorms require your Bruin card to gain access to. I was wondering if this was true for Rieber Hall, or is it only for the new vistas?

if you want to use the stairs or elevator then yeah you need the card.

you need your bruin card to get into buildings and to use the elevators. you need your room key (its a card also) to get into your actual room. some dorms require the key and a code.

You need your Bruin Card to gain access to all of the dorm buildings, as well as your room keycard and/or your four-digit room security code to access your dorm room.

If there's a four digit security code can't someone just type in 4 random digits and somehow get it right?

This is the case for all dorms, including Sunset Village?

you need your card AND the code, from what i've seen. havent heard of being able to get in just using the code. IMO, the code is pointless. unless you drop your key card right in front of your door, theres no way to know what room the key opens.

which dorms require the code?

i can't remember off the top of my head. i know i've seen it a couple times...i wanna say hedrick and hedrick summit...

Yeah... I've only seen those panels in Hedrick for reshalls... I can't remember what it's like at the 3 newest buildings except that all of the single suites have them.

vista had the keypad, but we didnt have to use codes. shrug
