So in the beginning of AP US History we kind of do a little work with Europe in the 1500s. It's pretty cool to see people and cities named Andover, Exeter, Concorde and so forth back then.

You wonder how old these families are, and the aristocrats (or peasants) from Europe and all.

Yeah, but this thread should be moved to “prep school cafe”.

Sometimes a mod may move it. Most of the time though it’s pretty lax. There have been plenty of threads over the last year (Countdown to Acceptance letters, etc.) that do not directly relate with PPA.

Do

By my house there are 2 streets called Choate and Andover, and THEY CROSS EACH OTHER! And then there’s a Deerfield Elementary!!

I thought I was delusional at first, haha.

Where do you live? New England (or some town in NorCal, try to imitate prep life) I guess?

lemons, do you live in new jersey? because there are two streets like those and a school called that in this town I know. whoah.

Haha no, I live in SoCal.

There are actually a lot of colonial-type names, because today I passed by a street named Princeton. And Cambridge.

THAT IS SO COOL.

it’s like an academia-themed town!

I live in a city that most people moved to just to go to the great public schools (we pay sky-high income tax though), so I guess it makes some sense.

I guess it’s subliminal messaging - the city trying to make us think about college all the time, wherever we go… x_x
