Kinda bombed the math placement test. Advice?

Hello,

Recently I took a math placement test to determine which math courses I could handle; apparently, I bombed it. My recommended courses were literally "Introduction to Numbers and Figures" or Stat 1102 (seems to be a beginning statistics course)

I took Calculus I and II at my old university (I'm a transfer student) and got comfortable B's in both. I'm currently enrolled in Calculus III and I'm confident I will pass it, although I would ideally like to retake it. But that's a separate issue.

I was planning to transfer into the Mathematical Economics major at Temple. Does anyone know whether my poor score on the placement test will prevent me from taking some of the higher math courses? Or is it just a guideline for advising purposes?

Thanks!
