Does anyone have any experience with Kindle? I see when ordering books there is an electronic verison. Can these be downloaded to the Kindle? Pros/Cons would be appreciated.

I have never used the larger version of Kindle that’s available for textbooks, the DX, I think it’s called. But, I can say, I’ve been using a first generation kindle since Nov of last year and I LOVE IT. My husband borrowed it when he forgot to bring a book on a vacation and I downloaded one for him, and he fell in love. So, I just got him the newest generation for his birthday. He’s taken it overseas with him on a trip; we’ll see how he feels about it when he returns. Unless they’ve fixed a few things in the “textbook version,” I could see some things that bug me, especially how difficult it might be to flip back and forth between pages. Much more difficult electronically than with a paperbook, obviously. Also, I don’t know how well tables/charts/ etc. translate on the dx, either. I do know that when I’ve had a downloaded book with a chart (as perhaps part of a mystery plot), it doesn’t translate well electronically. Unlike the rest of the book, which I can change the text/font size whenever I wish, the charts/photos usually come in at one size …and sometimes that’s waaaay too small. I’d assume they’d have that figured out for the dx. If you go to amazon and search kindle. There are community forums where folks gather to discuss questions/ins and outs/likes/dislikes, etc. of their kindles. You might get a better idea there …
