Will we know the dorm to which we were assigned when the e-bill becomes available on July 12th? Each dorm has a different rate (especially the LCTs) so should we be able to tell by the price which dorm we received? Or will they specifically tell us our dorm assignments before then? I know we're not supposed to find out roommates until August 2nd, but I'm not sure about the actually dorm assignments.

bump please

Does anyone know when we’re expected to know our dorm placement?

August 1 (or first week).
July 13 if you are accepted to an Explorations floor. You will only know the dorm them though, not the room or your roommates. You will get that August 1 (or first week).

Thank you! :)

It’s actually Aug 2 haha

Actually… if you go to NYU Home >> Academics >> Student Login >> Bursar >> Current Activity, it should say “Housing -‘Which Dorm You Are In’”

For example, mine says “Housing - Rubin”

And for some other friends its says Hayden, Founds, etc. depending on where you are placed. Hope that is legit and helps everyone!

As for LCT, you can tell what kind of room you are in by how much your bill is (its all per semester) for the room.

ah mine doesn’t say!

Yeah, there are some people who I’ve spoken with who just say “Housing” with no " - Dorm"… Not sure why yours is like that?

Were you ED?

no I was RD… this is so weird haha. I want to know!

I don’t see it too. All I see is -estimated cost 6885 and I’m Ed

Hmmm… well I know for some people it says it. All of my friends on Facebook at least.

I got a LCT Rubin and it says “Housing - Rubin $3,360”

Mys son’s doesn’t say it as well and he is ED. His just gives a breakdown of the bill and housing is 6885.

I think that the only accounts that list the name of the dorms are for students that got into an exploration floor or residental housing. These assignments are made earlier than the rest and students are supposed to be notified before July 15. My son found “Goddard” next to housing after logging into Albert this morning, but it appears that most of the people he knows who did not apply for special housing do not have anything listed yet except “6885”.

Oh, and low-cost housing applicants were also assigned - so everyone in Rubin seems to know.

Were all LCTs assigned? Does this mean I didn’t get a LCT? I sent my money in the next day and applied for housing the night I got the e-mail. Now if I’m stuck in a regular room in Rubin without air conditioning, I am going to be a bit angry. I better have Hayden or Founders if I don’t have a LCT.

My D just got her email today for Goddard!

I don’t know if ALL of the LCT were assigned - I only know that many were. I do know that sending in the money or applying for housing early did not put anyone at an advantage. I actually asked someone that in housing. I was told that all the applications were reviewed at the same time after the deadline. Good luck Billy - I agree being without AC would be difficult.

6885 per semester is way too much. Does this mean I was assigned a regular priced room?

I doubt $6885 really tells you which dorm you are put in. It doesn’t even match up with any of the housing rates. $3,360 does, which is an Rubin LCT. Look for yourself:
