How is it? Anyone have any inside information/ Go to this school or know anyone that does?

I heard it has one of the most impressive campuses in the country.

I live not too far from Boulder and have several friends attending.

Boulder is like any other college--what are you looking for? It's an absolutely gorgeous town, and the surrounding area and Denver is a very good atmosphere for college aged kids. I know that CU Boulder is big on the school spirit factor and on the party factor. The football team's been involved in scandal the past few years, but generally speaking they have a good academic reputation. If you're the outdoorsy type, Boulder may be one of the best schools in the country for you. There is legendary skiing, hiking, and all sorts of other outdoors stuff available and immediately accessable.

To me, someone who's looking at a smaller set of LACs for college, Boulder seems big. The campus is large and there are (of course) thousands of students. I have lots of friends that went up there last year and they just love it... the party, laid-back, left-wing atmosphere is relaxing and very fun.

So what exactly do you need to know? Haha.

Oh, and the campus is gorgeous too. Don't know if I mentioned that. =)

ok undergrad, great grad overall

ck the Colorado University-Boulder thread in the Alphabetical list of colleges for a bit more info.

Haha wow thanks for all that information! Also is it easy to get accepted to? and how is the diversity? Is there a lot of people from out-of-state. I'm from New york

Visit the CU Boulder Web Site. Plenty of info there. They have something like 38-40% out of staters there. Like all schools admittance depends on your intended major, your stats, etc. It is quite expensive for out of staters in my humble opinion.

You can look at what students who go there have to say on www.studentsreview.com

take it with a HUGE grain of salt.

Having been guest faculty there once, my impression of CU is that the town is wonderful, the surrounding area spectacular, the campus nice enough looking, and the school itself a McSchool, pretty much undistinguished from any other large, state U. Students run the gamut from a few very bright and engaged ones, past mostly disengaged ticket punchers, to downright dullards. Once again, that's par for the course in most McSchools.

There are several very good graduate programs, mostly in the hard or social sciences.
