hmm idk not many know chicago. Rather i would have to say MIT, Harvard, Yale, and maybe Stanford. Princeton no one really knows.

Yeah, Princeton is not well-known as one would suspect for a strange reason.

Really? I think Princeton, although perhaps not as well known as Harvard or Yale is, is still fairly well known in terms of its prestige and academic excellence in Korea. If you are talking about schools like Dartmouth and Amherst, now those are the awesome-US-Schools-not-known-to-Koreans-as-well.

hey koreans what are your stats like?

lol what kind of question IS that? Do you want all of us to post our stats on this thread? I mean it seems pretty pointless... what are you trying to get to throught that question? I think you need a better question..

lol i guess i wasn't clear in my intention. i just thought that it'd be nice to see koreans posting up their stats so that everyone can see how "competitive" the korean pool is in college admission

which school has most koreans from the following list: MIT, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, UPenn, UChicago, Stanford, UCB, Northwestern, Columbia, Brown, Oxford, Cambridge, London School of Economics..?

Maybe stanford? Because it has a really high percentage of asians..?

First, UK schools have very small no. of Koreans. I know, because I lived there for 5 years. Fewer Koreans live there, and fewer Koreans are interested in studying in UK schools.

Second, it depends on what you mean by Koreans. Do you mean anyone with Korean heritage or those who actually have home in Korea? I'm guessing Berkeley has the highest % in the former meaning, but in the latter I think Cornell.

Hello!! I'm Korean living in Seoul..
I got into U Penn!! anyone going to Penn this year??
let's get to know each other!!!!

haha hey i'm a krn living in america right now. anyways, answer this question:

agree/disagree

korean nationalism freaks you out sometimes.

I like nationalism to a healthy level, but some people really get carried away.

could someone plz help me translate this line of korean?thanks so much guys:)

나가, 그러나 진실이 나 필요로 한다 너를 이다 것 을 나는 생각했다

Mmm Korean nationalism does freak me out sometimes....people can really go overboard.

85397, I'm afraid to inform you that your sentence is so gramatically incorrect that it makes no sense at all.

haha thanks heythatslife,it's on my frd's msn name,so i was curious what it meant

I think your friend must have run it through Babel Fish or some other translation programme. If you want the literal translation, it's something like this:

나가, 그러나 진실이 나 필요로 한다 너를 이다 것 을 나는 생각했다
Get out, but the truth needs I that you are I thought.

Hail, fellow Koreans
Just dropping to say Hi :)

yea that's what i figured too cuz i ran that line through systrans (which is also a translation site) and the translation made no sense whatsoever. Thanks a lot though, really appreciate it:)

lol
anyways coolness_rookie... now I got your point.
but still, some people I think are sensitive about posting their stats up... not that I am (you can actually find it inside this thread... it's... somewhere :p) or if you want, I could pm it to you.

Now what I'm curious about is where everyone got admitted to and where they are going. I know there's a huge thread project going on in the admissions forum, but I think it'd be nice if we organized one for just Koreans... What do you think about it?
