Just curious, what do you think of the university oh so close by?

I will answer, since I’m a Baton Rouge native whose entire extended family either attended LSU or is there currently. I think it’s a good school and underrated by US News. It’s definitely not much worse than Alabama or Auburn, despite where they may be ranked. From your posts I gather that you’re a PETE major. LSU has one of the best programs in the country in that field if I recall correctly. Their internal auditing specialization in the b-school is solid as well. I do get tired of the Tulane bashing from some of their fans/students/alumns though. I don’t know if you’re familiar with the site tigerdroppings.com, but they tend to do a lot of Tulane hating over there.

It’s a grand old tradition, Johnny. Goes back at least 100 years I imagine. Hard to believe now, but there was a time when Tulane used to win most of the time against LSU on the gridiron. Given the current state of things and the unlikeliness that it will change any time soon, I am rather surprised that there are still any meaningful remnants of a rivalry of any sort (referring to your site reference). The schools are so different in virtually all aspects (size, public/private, make-up of student body, sports except for baseball…) I would think they now compliment one another as far as providing choices for students, especially Louisiana students but others too, as opposed to being in a position to generate any real bashing. Funny how slow some things are to change.
