LAC comparison

What do you consider a "better" school between Trinity College and Richmond?

Also, would you pick Richmond over Franklin and Marshall or Dickinson? What advantages would you have going to one of the PA schools?

They’re close enough that I wouldn’t bother making the distinction. I’d choose the one that feel most comfortable at. All of them (Trinity, Richmond, F&M, and Dickinson) are very very good schools and you’ll get a great education at any of them.

that’s an intriguing comparison. I think they are probably comparable academically; Trinity may have a slight edge in the sciences. They both have very attractive campuses with Gothic flourishes. I think the choice may boil down to what you are expecting in terms of location. I’d say, unless you are looking for your typical, isolated LAC social scene with a campus “bubble”, that Hartford has the edge; it’s just a more bustling city. And, even if Richmond did have the same live-music and theater scene that Hartford has, you would still need a car to get to them because unlike Hartford, Richmond is really just a series of suburban malls with little or no public transportation.

thanks for the inputs.

john is the city of Richmond still alive? I know greek life is popular which is something I am interested in. Is this the primary source of parties?

Also, how do you compare Richmond’s Business school to Villanova? In terms of ranking they are 11 and 12 but does one have a significant edge over the other?

Downtown Richmond is okay. I can definitely see going there on a quiet date or showing the parents around. I just don’t think it’s a destination for events which require major parking. That’s why the malls still rule, even for just going to the movies.

Sorry, I can’t help you with the business school; I just don’t know that much about it.
