I’m sure this could all be resolved if you were willing to pay $100 per unit.

Direct your anger at the state legislator. The unprecedented spending spree that they went on caused this.

yeah i’m not mad, just disappointed.

i just signed up for one class during that session b anyway, i can easily take it during the fall. however, i don’t understand why they waited so late into the year to tell us, rumors were going around my campus during winter that there wasn’t even going to be a summer session, so i’m thankful for that i guess.

My CC cancelled 60% of summer courses in hopes of not having to eliminate classes in the fall. This seems like a relatively common theme at CCC’s.

I hate when people whine about CC costs going up. At Pierce there were groups dedicating to making sure the cost didn’t “balloon” up to $25 or $27/unit. As if they weren’t already getting an amazing deal as it is. I guess they didn’t understand the costs of a real university.

^truth be told

i also go to pierce, but funny thing is most of those kids i’ve talked to have fee waivers so they don’t even have to pay for unit costs, yet they still protest.

Cause college kids will find anything to whine and complain about. Somehow they think it’s cool just to ***** and moan. Oh well, most those people never graduate anyways.

Sad yet somewhat hilarious.

just heard about this, sucks so much!!

If we can keep the cost of college down then why not do it? Its been working before and why not keep it low so that everyone can afford it. What about the people who have to work two jobs and support a family while going to school? Not everyone that goes to a community college is simply a kid in their early twenties.

I would argue that we should make community college free again. Consider it an investment for California, so that a larger population is getting educated. And in the long run California will be home to good paying jobs and educated people, we could reduce poverty, have the educated community that is required to have clean cities. For what its worth i think college for everyone will result in a better California.

THIS ROYALLY ****S ME OVER.

In my conditions of admissions for Davis, I have to complete math 125 and 227 over summer. I am registered for 125 for session A and 227 for session B. Now i cant complete 227, so I am probably going to be rescinded. ■■■!

Do you think there is any way I will be able to keep my admissions? THis… really sucks

Holy crap. I was hearing this as a rumor for a while. Can’t believe it’s true. Sorry for all those who are affected by this :(

where do you propose this money come from, Art?

You live in lala land :(

Fact is, at $20/unit there is NO better deal in education. I have yet to meet someone who could not afford CC, and more importantly, one that didn’t receive financial aid. It’s fun to play the super liberal agena game, but in the real world, paying $20/unit or even $30-40/unit (far more than the increases even) is a pittance to what you gain from a CC education. 60 units at CC cost me about $1000 over 2 1/2 years. I easily paid my self and got no financial aid. Saved me about 20k from a UC.

If you are talking about people with jobs and kids, then they usually take 4 years to complete an AA. Even if it is 3, that is only like $300-400 a year. So for about $1 a day they get an education. Yah, we TOTALLY should make that cheaper. WAAAAAY to expensive.

You think money grows on trees or something? EVERY program in the state needs more money. I would love to eliminate welfare and all these social programs and use that money towards CC, but we don’t. So just stop crying and pay the extra $5/unit. I hate you.

wow and I thought it was just me!!

You definately don’t go to LLACC (Liberal Los Angeles City College)!

Smc ftw!!!

@mrxniick

Definitely contact admissions asap. Since this is a common trend happening in all CCCs, they should be understanding upon your situation. I’m sure it’s not just you. Nearby CCCs to me have cut back a lot and are only offering simple 100-150 courses, it sucks.

Good luck!

I am planning on registering for Stats at UCLA and was wondering if STATS 10 INTRO-STAT REASON fills the requirement. (Political Science major, UCD)

Also it lists: Enforced Requisites: None so does that mean i can register it and skip math 125?

I just checked assist and stat 10 fills the requirement. I am so happy. The class has no pre-reqs so I don’t have to take math 125 either. This is awesome.

Hijynx99,

dude… attack the issue not the person. You make your self look kinda unprofessional by doing that… I think Art was just saying that if we can keep the cost down we should try to. Of course if you feel like you should be paying the full price of a school check out private schools.
