Lack of Concentration During Homework... Help???

This might be too long of a post for a single problem but we'll see after I finish typing this up...

This has been a problem for me for a couple of months now. So, like most of the people here at CC, I have a crap ton of homework every night for my AP/Honors classes. Of course I do all of my homework but it always results in me sleeping at like 1 or 2 and maybe even 3 (and I swear I don't procrastinate... you'll see why soon). The problem is that during the middle of my homework (like 9 or 10ish) I get hit by a SEVERE case of drowsiness... I don't even know why. Like, whenever I try to do my homework, my head goes all fuzzy and I can't think straight (this is hell especially when I do essays). After that time period though (like 11 or 12) I snap out of my drowsiness and my eyes just go heavy BUT I can think again and do my homework properly even though I get lazy (I know, it's REALLY weird). But sometimes, I don't snap out of my drowsiness at all T_T.

Basically my question is:
What do I do? That time period when I'm drowsy really affects my homework and makes it seem mediocre (especially English). It also affects how I study since I can't concentrate. I have a 4.00 UW GPA but I'm afraid it'll drop soon if I don't do anything. Do you guys have any ideas or ways as to how I can keep focused during that time period? And some of you guys might tell me to have like 10 minute intervals of break time to relax my brain and stuff but I don't think that's really possible for me. My mom always sits on the couch that's across my desk and watches over me (being the typical Asian parent she is) so I can't have any 'free time'.
Any feedback would be great!
Thanks~

Take a quick nap right after school so that you feel awake for the rest of the afternoon/night. Good luck!

@DaneBrick is right. A good nap for like 30 minutes can really invigorate you and can help you gain strength so that you can face the rest of the day. Good luck.

Are there any other alternatives? My parents won’t allow that because it ‘wastes too much time’ which I don’t understand… AT ALL lol
Thanks for the advice though~

Look up the symptoms for hypoglycemia. Also consider the kinds of ambient noise in your surroundings around the time you feel drowsy.

You need to do the things that work for you. Better to take a 30 min nap than waste more than that amount of time drowsily trying to do school work and it takes twice the time it should take.

My D who is a high school senior rather would work late than get up early (as most kids). She often comes home and eats then takes a nap (setting her alarm). She often will brew some coffee late when she needs a bit of wake up java.

Try to eliminate time wasters that you will not miss.

Good luck with getting your parents to let go a little.

Sleep during your off periods. But seriously I’m sure your parents will understand.

Take a cold shower then go running out in the cold wind. Blood circulation increases noticeably.

You should try to explain to you parents that working in long stretches is hampering your productivity and that you think it would be more time effective for you to take breaks.
