Lack of SAT II tests

I did not take any SAT II subject tests while in highschool. While reading Brown’s tranfer applicant page, I stumbled across the statement…

“It should be noted that an application to Brown without results from a standardized test may be detrimental to your chances of admission.”

Has anyone gone through the Brown transfer process without SAT II scores? more importantly, how detrimental can a lack of SAT II scores be? did you get accepted, sign the waiver, or go through any special process because of this?

any help is appreciated. Although I have not visted the campus due to time restrictions, Brown truly seems like a great fit, and a great struggle to get to. This is for 2008 fall apps by the way…

You don't need SAT IIs if you have taken the ACT. If you took the SAT, then you need two.

so does this basically mean I have close to no shot as a transfer? I have taken the SAT I test one time, retesting in a week but I have no ACT or SAT II scores. I never took either test.

Transfer admissions are different, though, so I can't help you much with that.

At brown if u take the ACT then you dont need any SAT II'S?

This isn't the same for the other ivy's am I correct?

For UPenn it is.

so is it recommended to take the ACTs too?

If you have SAT I scores it shouldn't be a big deal, especially if they are above 700. And you can always take subject tests now, they will still accept the scores. Or you can take the ACT and just submit that score. It doesn't matter, which one do you think you would test higher in?

I'm not exactly sure. I am retaking the SATs on June 2nd and hoping to bring my scores up from a 650m, 630cr and 620w but that was in one test with no studying. I think the ACTs would be better than SATII tests.
