Lack of sleep

I've been getting about 2-4 lately... It does make you messed up. I think about sleeping whenever I'm awake, I fall asleep in class, I can't learn new material well...

sleep is a great thing... youll just never get much of it in school, thats what all of the breaks are for

Yeah... sleep is great.

I know I personally have trouble after not sleeping for 48hrs+. My body just kind of starts acting weird. Naps and coffee are your friends :)

It DEFINENTLY catches up to you. I recently had 2 exams on one day, so you could imagine the cramming on the night before. I only had 3-4 hours of sleep (i swear) and I had to wake up at 7AM. Surprinsingly, I aced both exams, but the 2 to 3 days after that, my muscles were so fatigued I skipped class the next few days cos I was just waaaayy too tired. (Although the As on the exams were worth it though :-))

So I'm pulling 0-3 hours of sleep as a HS senior (4-5 if I'm lucky, 6 if I win the lottery), and I'm taking 4 APs and one regular class...does this mean I'm going to like DIE in college?

Please, oh please say no.

No. In HS, I took all AP in my senior year (7 classes) and I also averaged 3 hours of sleep. And I felt like crap.

But that's highschool. This is college. Surprisingly, I get a lot more sleep in college than at any point in my life. Even if I have to cram for a test and I sometimes dont sleep at all, I still get more sleep overall than compared to highschool.

Plus, unlike highschool, my college schedule allows me to have 1 hour breaks between classes which I can run back to my dorm and nap.

btw, its 2:10AM right now and I'm cramming for a midterm. lol

getting that little sleep in high school is ridiculous... i got like 6 or 7 hours a night and took all honors, ap, and ib and still made a 3.96, high school is not hard enough to require 3 hours of sleep a night

I never said that the 3 hours of sleep are not from studying though lol.

It was the combination of AP Classes (it was a tough HS, Top 10% of school systems in the entire nation) + extracurrucular activities + sports + job + hanging out with friends

So are naps a bad idea?

correction to earlier post: "I never said that the 3 hours of sleep are all from studying though lol."

Naps aren't an entirely bad idea, but if you lead a pretty low-key lifestyle (school, home)...I'd advise against them. Naps are for people who need them. Circular logic.

meh no sleep is bad. I'm going on a half hour and i want to vomit/pass out...never again!
