Lacrosse at U of Chicago

My son is very interested in U of C. He plays and enjoys lacrosse very much. He wants to ba able to play in college. (varsity, club, intramurals). Is this an option at Chicago and if so, what is the level of competition and time commitment?

We don't offer mens' varsity lacrosse, but we do offer it at a club level.

I don't know anybody on that team, but I have friends who do club sports. Typically, they practice for 4-5 hours a week and compete once every week or two. The emphasis is on having fun and making friends rather than being directly competitive.

Intramurals are also fantastic! They are even less competitive (think gym class), but they are lots and lots of fun-- every house seems to have its own intramural sports traditions, mascots, etc. Some take intramural sports more seriously than others, but the general idea is that everybody of every level can participate and have a good time. My house participates in about 3-4 intramural sports a quarter, so if your son is looking to stay active and have fun, he can also play on his house teams.
