Lacrosse D3 Help! how much of a hook?

Hello! So the coach at Pomona College is recruiting me to play lacrosse next year, which I am absolutely ecstatic about since Pomona has been my dream for a long time and I love lacrosse. I play goalie and the year I am coming in there will be no goalies on the team, therefore it is crucial for the coach to recruit this position!

In terms of my scores and stats I am right around (number wise below average) the typical applicant - I'm a URM (hispanic), attend a nationally ranked high school where it is nearly impossible to get average grades nevermind exceptional grades (although I have been able to get around a 3.8ish cumulative i had issues with anorexia freshman year that lowered my cumulative the past few semesters ive been getting a 4.2 gpa) SAT scores around 2120, as many aps as my school would allow (you cant take any fresh/soph year), i've been a gold medalist on the national latin exam 3 years in a row (intend to major in this as well as pre-med), i got a grant through the american cancer society and have conducted chemotherapy research at university of chicago and have co-published works alongside the phD researchers who helped me. im in NHS, NLHS, class president, president of diversity club, president of mental health awareness club, medical club, and members of some other clubs too, i have been a girl scout for 13 years serve on the elected board of reps and have gotten my gold award by hosting an information/motivational seminar for unemployed women and created a website/database for those looking for work, tips, or inspiration to pursue their passions, i am a national dog show title holder, top choir leader and excel at visual art so i am utilizing the art supplement part of the common app.

the question is though that pomona is still incredibly difficult to get into, how much pull do you think my URM, recruited athelete, and unique characteristics will hold over my initial low gpa and not 2400 sat...? I do not like to define myself simply by numbers, but I know that they are crucial to these competitive colleges.

P.s: the lacrosse team is conjoined with Pitzer college...would my admission to that school be any different (higher/lower?)

thanks for any help! i did not proofread this so i apologize for the grammar mistakes! please ask for clarification if necessary.

So you’re a senior, being recruited at Pomona for lacrosse, and you’re wondering how much pull the coach may have with admissions?

I thing the only meaningful answer has to come from the Pomona coach. I assume you’ve sent in scores and transcripts - ask him how he thinks it will play with admissions.

Yes, you really should talk to her about it. I don’t think Pitzer’s acceptance rate is much higher than Pomona’s. You might improve your chances if you can apply ED. If your numbers are in range, which it looks like they are, perhaps her support would give you a slight edge with admissions. Of course there are no guarantees, be sure to write a good essay. Good luck!
