Lafayette Class of 2027 Official Thread

I got in but absolutely no financial aid or merit. So I will not be attending

And yet another waitlist. All waitlists. Her stats are far and away stronger than her older brother’s, who was accepted to Lafayette and everywhere else she is getting waitlisted to two years ago. So frustrating. Congrats to those who got in!

My DD accepted! No financial aid or merit.

So so many waitlists this year. Hearing this from so many people. I’ve got to think that there will be movement from them.

My son was accepted for Civil Engineering! I love the personalized letter. No mention of merit aid. Does that come separately or should we assume none was offered?

Congratulations to all who were accepted! It’s such a nice school. We are hoping to revisit at Easter.

I agree. Seems like a lot of colleges are trying to control their numbers. Colleges are filling 50%, 60%, 70% of the class with ED. Leaves very little wiggle room for accepting RD candidates. Alas, most people cannot afford to commit to an $80k+ price tag without knowing if they’ll get any aid. Lafayette is my son’s first choice. He’s at practice this afternoon, so it will be awhile before I hear… Fingers crossed it’s not another Waitlist, and toes crossed that there’s some aid, but I’ve set my own bar low in the hopes of lessoning the sticker shock!

In but not merit

Son is in, but no merit or other $$ – COA is $87,000, so this will be a no for us.

“Thank you for your interest in Lafayette College! Your candidacy garnered positive attention from the Admissions Committee, but because of enrollment limits your application has been moved to the College’s Waitlist.”

Sigh. This is the third waitlist my bf got, and he only has 1 acceptance he is somewhat considering. Hoping the best for his college journey so far and I’m trying to be super supportive, but this is super stressful!

The waitlist will probably move since it doesn’t seem like they are giving anyone money

My DD was accepted, no merit, but received enough financial aid to attend.

Yeah, looking at past numbers it seems like last year they took 4% ish people. I’m not sure how similar it will be this year or how accurate the info I found on the website is though

Waitlisted here and heartbroken.

Daughter waitlisted
1510 SAT’s
3.98 UW
7 AP’s
President NHS
Capt of Soccer team
Tons of volunteer hours

Accepted to every other school she applied to (waiting on Lehigh still) with generous merit money and financial aid.

She was initially heartbroken as Lafayette was one of her top choices, but she is moving on.

Congrats to all who were accepted!

None is offered. FA packages are in portal.

Just make sure that you factor in changes in the family that my happen in the next 4 years.

Do not forget that price will go up every year…
