Lafayette ED I Applicants 2015-2016!!!

@msltennis97‌ My college guidance officer worked at Lehigh last year on the admissions staff, and he said Laf and Lehigh typically do things pretty similarly. Since, on the website, it says “BY December 15th” we should hear then or before… but in the past Lafayette has been known to release decisions a little past Dec 15th depending on the day of the week. I would be surprised if you or I heard past next Tuesday at the latest, but it is the holiday season so we have to be prepared for anything! This week is going to be super nerve-racking, wishing you all the best of luck!

@GiangNam haha! that’s your gangnam style.Goodluck with the whole thing!
@slimshady4556 thanks! I just hope things turn out well.It took me hell of an effort to prepare my application.I hope I did my best! ~170 hours to the dee-day :D

Same here! I’m sure you’ll be fine. You’ve done everything you can, so whatever happens happens. If you don’t get in to Lafayette maybe it isn’t the place for you; However, you seem like you are qualified! Best of luck. @SmartBeast‌

Thanks @slimshady4556‌ ! Although ,the painful thing about the process is being denied from getting into the school itself! Goodluck too;seems like you are an Eminem fan :D

I wrote a somewhat-silly-short poem about Admissions Officers.Another excellent way to wait that is not thinking about coconuts  !

Admissions Officers…
A small subset of the human population,
Humans, but they hold your destiny,
They sleep ;they don’t slumber
Coffee in their hands, and with the stride of their pens, you are accepted or denied
Accepted,you revel;denied,you are depressed
Your future holds either way,but they make the puzzle less digressed
Isn’t it a funny world?
Isn’t it a difficult world?
Probability.Uncertainty.Time.Fear
You can wait for these small gods
Half.Half.And Half,
Those are the odds
You must await their toss
This is not a game for Garry Kasparov
This is not chess

:D

Nice poem… it really captures the atmosphere surrounding this waiting game that we are playing.

The unfortunate part about this wait is that if you are not accepted then you just spent all this time eagerly awaiting
the letter only to receive bad news.

@Rypsnort exactly! Not a good feeling.Thanks for the input :slight_smile: :)

As long as we did our best we shall be fine. Positive energy welcomes more positivity!

With almost 2K views, clearly people are looking at this thread for information. It really is too bad that there is no longer a dedicated student to answer questions. Taylor - @captainclueless‌ did an amazing job in past years. His information was a big help when we were going through the process last year. The Lafayette website is a wealth of information, so I encourage you to look for answers to general questions there. http://www.lafayette.edu/</a> There should also be a Facebook Page for prospective students with lots of current students there to offer advice. Good luck to all of you ED students.

@Gemblu‌ unfortunately nothing has been posted on the prospective a page for approximately a month. This wait is so much harder when there’s no one updating us :(

Yes @shaldy .In fact, I’m no longer thinking too much ears closed .@Gemblu I think @sixstringsrocker has been doing a pretty good job in helping out. Although, I don’t know if he’s really into “updating” about admission as @shaldy has mentioned .

@SmartBeast‌ I check the forums about once a day, and usually just answer questions. Taylor used to work at admissions, and that’s probably why he was able to post updates. I never worked for admissions, although I did talk to a lot of people on campus throughout my four years, which is why sometimes I can answer questions that you can’t find answers to online. I’ve already graduated, and I have no way of knowing what’s going on in Easton. That’s why I can’t post updates, although I don’t know what updates there are at this point.

@sixstringrocker If you get any useful info, I’m sure you can provide. Thanks!

I received an email today directly from a Lafayette admissions counselor. He said that the applications are completed and all of the decisions are made, and they will be sending out letters towards the end of this week (no exact date)

Ok, now that info got my heart running faster than Usain Bolt…lol. Are counselors always different from those that make the decisions? @slimshady4556

@slimshady4556‌ thank you for the update! Having an actual update makes everything feel so real :-/

No, he is the person who read and decided for my application. I was lucky enough to be able to build up relationships with a few members on the admission staff due to their visits to my school/interviews/on campus information sessions, and they have been extremely helpful throughout this process. Having an inside source makes the process less intimidating, however my rejection/acceptance is still extremely unclear! I am sooo worried, but I am most definitely hoping for the best. I hear showing interest at Lafayette helps, and I have (either in a good way or bad way) shown quite a bit of interest. @SmartBeast‌

Being from Wisconsin I will probably have to wait until Monday or Tuesday for my decision. With the storm in the NE it may delay the mail. IDK air-planes are pretty fast so it still may come on Monday. (is planes the right plane or is it plain)

do you guys mind me asking what your stats are? if you don’t feel comfortable responding thats totally fine, i just want to get a gauge of the applicants in the pool this year

Lol @Rypsnort‌ it should be the former. Goodluck!
@simshady4556 I think people with a not-so-confident-about stats like mine won’t really be smiling sharing ours.Lol. But I can inbox you if you’re interested  BTW,you can’t really gauge the applicant pool from a small specimen like this; it should be very diverse… :)
