Lafayette,Lehigh or Muhlenberg......which one?

Can only visit one or two schools in PA ( we have one day)

Which one should we see and why? Son is undecided major, just want a good liberal arts college.

Also considering Bucknell and susquehanna( but these are in a seperate location)

If you think Bucknell and sussquehanna are better visits, can you explain why?

Which one would be most rural? Or or resemble upper NY most?

Lehigh>Lafayette>Muhl

Lehigh isn't a LAC.

I would consider Bucknell the best school followed by Lehigh, Lafayette, Muhlenberg, Susquehanna.

Bucknell and Susquehanna are more rural and from what I've heard have nicer campuses. http://www.colgate.edu/DesktopDefault1.aspx?tabid=730&pgID=6013&nwID=4077

Bucknell would be most similar to the type of NY schools I think you're talking about and was actually founded by a former Colgate president.

Bucknell over Lehigh? That's laughable. While it's a great school, Bucknell is not a better school.

ehh, lehigh, buckell, lafayette - all basicly the same. lehigh isn't more presitigious than bucknell nor the other way around, although I'd say both are a slight step ahead of lafayette in general perception. I saw all 3, and I applied to lafayette and bucknell.

I really didn't like Lehigh, too hilly, too in the middle of no where, and the buildings they don't show you on the tour arn't anywhere near as nice as the buildings they do show you.

It was so long ago, but from what I can remember most - lafayette and bucknell's dorms were like palaces - a real plus. They wouldn't let us in dorms at lehigh - although they looked nice from the outside. Also, lafayette has a GORGEOUS government and poly sci library.

I'm not a prestige whore at all. While both are GREAT schools, Lehigh is regarded in higher standing along with the likes of Swarth, Haverford, UPenn, etc.

i'm not in college yet but i DO live in the lehigh valley. lafayette and muhlenberg are schools that i would visit, personally.

jPod,

unless ive been living under a rock for the last couple years, or unless i was lied to by everyone ive ever met, Lehigh is NOT regarded in the same light as swarthmore, penn, haverford.

I looked at it as a safety school (even though i didn't apply) and I looked at UVa OOS as a reach school.

Obviously it's not as good as the big three, but it's certainly not lightyears below those schools....
