Lame suspensions

What are Princeton's thought on suspensions if they are not character/integrity related. In my sophomore year (which I then repeated at boarding school) my friend got ****faced at my house and then got busted for drinking at a dance at another random school. When he got brought in he said that he had been at my house and they called me in and I admitted that I drank even though I wasn't caught. I was subsequently suspended. I'm hoping it will not be a big factor as it was relatively minor, not honor/character related, I admitted what I did, it was a long time ago in sophomore year and also I repeated that grade anyway. Any thoughts?

wait, you got suspended for drinking at your house?

The kid got drunk at my house and went to a school dance. (not our school)

That's the worst suspension I've ever heard of....

Can't say what the admissions office would think of that, but if I were an officer I'd admit you just because you seem normal. :) (i went to my prom wasted)

That sounds pretty minor...
I don't know how they view repeating a grade though.

You basically need to write an explanation on the application. If it wasn't your fault, they are going to disregard the suspension and give you a mark for honesty.

Sure it's lame, but he's not completely innocent. He confessed to doing something he did do, and got punished for it, so it's not like he was wrongly accused and punished. But I don't think it's a big deal and you should explain it in the most reponsible way possible.

In your application process you will need to get a transcript from Frosh year...the school of suspension. Will your transcript show that you were there SOPH year or part of that year? All of your recommendations will come from your boarding school....the place I presume you graduated from? What was their knowledge and their advice regarding the suspension from previous school? Some schools do not report suspensions. What is the policy regarding your school of Frosh/Soph??? This could be a glitch and never reported....find out what you need to cop to....it may not be that much.

I think some of you may be misunderstanding why I changed schools. I just went to boarding school because it's a much better academic environment, not because I got in trouble, and thousands of kids repeat at boarding school so they certainly won't be looking unfavorably on that, especially because I didn't repeat any classes, just the grade. But anyway, the fact that I was suspended was on my app to boarding school and I still got in. However, I doubt my college counselor will look at my app to write my recommendation. Nobody will actually be reporting it because all that comes from my old school is my transcript, but since I'd rather be honest and avoid any sticky situation later, I'm reporting it.

u are given an opportunity to explain what happened. if you explained the way you did, im sure itll be fine.

so u went to hs for 5 years?

Yes, I will go to high school for 5 years.

Shrek is right, i wouldn't even worry about that stupid suspension. tell the adcoms that you were honest in what happened, and if honesty entails such consequences, so be it. :D

and dude, i can tell you're a man's man cuz your SN is Meateater. real men eat meat ALL the time. sometimes, even raw.

I've eaten raw meat before and I'm a girl. But it must have been the 1/4 Mongolian part of me that prompted it.
