Suspension after being accepted- Help

I'm going to be a freshman at Georgetown in the Fall, but on a school trip recently I got a 5 day suspension for having alcohol in the hotel room. Will this impact my status at all?

probably...

Honestly, I doubt it and if it does then that's hella weak. I mean come on, they have to realize that over 50% of their accepted students drink, u just happened to get caught.

I think it's far greater than 50%, akajjred.

Most likely not. If they disclose it to Georgetown and you write a letter explaining why, I'm pretty sure they're not going to rescind your offer of admission.

The only case I could see them doing that is through an incidence of major plagiarism that showed up on the transcript. Alcohol...they're not going to care about. This is the school that has declared alcohol consumption by most undergraduates a fact of life, and that has one of the most lax, almost non-existent, policies towards alcohol consumption of any elite school.

Who writes the counselor rec for year end? I had a minor offense and was lucky that my public school simply had the registrar send out a letter from counselors saying nothing has changed about the student record because everyone was lazy.
Yes do explain what you learned. It's minor. But the letter is a required response. However they know that students will drink again ... ;)

in December right before the ea decisions a few kids in my school brought alcohol on a school trip. one of the kids applied to georgetown and got in ea still. and the other kids got into penn-wharton nyu and tons of other great schools. an alcohol violation is nowhere near as bad as an honor violation...but yea they got like 4 days suspension and had to write letters to colleges. I wouldn't worry esp because they know you have already committed.

What about if you get in trouble for something alcohol related during the summer or if you don't go to court until summer? Does your high school or Georgetown ever find out?
