Hello, I just took the language placement test for German, and it placed me into 1D/2A. Is that good or bad? Is that class difficult? Would anyone recommend a different level? I took four years in high school, and I skipped a level. So, I am in German five right now. I don't want this to ruin my GPA if it is a difficult class. I'm in Roosevelt, so I need to take a foreign language. I also would like to try Arabic, and I have never taken that before. Which would be easier to do? I am a language oriented person.

Thanks

you should have bombed it on purpose for easy A’s =P

1D/1DX is the terminal linguistics class and generally has class 5 days a week: three days to learn about culture and two days to learn about grammar. If you wish to continue your German studies beyond 1D/1DX, 2A would be your next class, which is a more literature-oriented class and class generally meets four times a week. If you have AP German credit, you may be eligible to start at a different level.

As for class selection between Arabic and German, it is ultimately up to your personal interest. Choose whichever class you would more likely to enjoy and succeed in.

does anyone know how hard 1b is for spanish?
