Placement Test Questions

So I took 1 year of spanish in middle school and 2 years in high school, yet I still had to take an online placement test. I got into Ling 1B. Does anyone know if I HAVE TO take this class and also what is the class like? (is it conversational or more writing based and the difficulty)

The college courses are much more advanced and fast paced than anything you took in middle or high school. if you werent really taking the test seriously, call the dept to take it again, but it most likely placed you correctly

no I took it seriously but only knew part of the first 5 questions (out of 100) and guessed on the rest so yeah…

All the language classes have two components: LISP 1B and 1BX, in this case. (There’s also A/AX, C/CX, and D/DX). You are required to enroll in both at the same time. The 1B portion of the class is conversation and meets 3 days a week. The 1BX portion is grammar focused and meets 2 days a week.

From my experience, UCSD language classes are pretty difficult.

Your reply helps me a lot too. THX: )

so is this exam or for that matter any of the exams mandatory?
