While looking at the requirements for Harvard transfer applicants, i noticed that transfers must demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language. Would taking a summer foreign language course at a foreign school and becoming certified by that school in that language demonstrate proficiency? (sorry for the bad grammar)

I am curious.

I don’t know for certain, but I would guess that it requires something more mediated by Harvard itself. For non-transfer undergrads, the requirement can be fulfilled by 2 semesters of a language class, a 5 on an AP language exam, or above a certain score on the Harvard language placement test. I’d guess that any of those three would also fulfill the transfer requirement, though I haven’t seen it written anywhere.
